External Parasites:

Fleas, ticks and other external parasites can be a nuisance to both pets and their owners. Besides the discomfort they cause, parasites spread rapidly and could effect the long-term health of your pet if left untreated.

Unfortunately, ringworm is fairly common in Richmond. You’ll likely notice a ring-like round shape under your pet’s fur if they have been infected with ringworm. Our vet in Richmond can treat ringworm with medication so your pet can heal from the parasitic invader.

Skin Allergies:

If your pet scratches excessively or has a rash and there are no signs of fleas or ticks, they may suffer from skin allergies. Our veterinarian in Richmond can run a series of tests to identify what’s triggering allergic reactions and prescribe medication or lifestyle changes to address skin allergies.

Ear Infections:

Pets with ear infections may scratch the area excessively and even have fur loss on the ear. Their ears may be red, swollen or have an odd odor or even discharge when an infection is present. Our vet in Richmond aggressively treats ear infections in pets to prevent hearing loss or other complications.

Skin Cancer:

If you notice any type of odd spots on your pet’s skin, you’ll want to let our veterinarian in Richmond take a look at it right away. The earlier we detect skin cancer, the better their chances of beating this potentially deadly disease.
